Belcaro Real Estate, Denver

Belcaro is a fashionable neighborhood in central Denver near the Cherry Creek shopping center. The neighborhood gets its name from the mansion of Lawrence C. Phipps (1862-1958) who was a United States Senator who represented Colorado from 1919-1931. Phipps chose “Belcaro” as the name of the mansion, yet today it is more commonly known as the “Phipps Mansion.” Phipps developed much of the neighborhood, and today it is dominated by many large ranch-style houses on large lots and tree-lined streets. A large gated community called the Polo Grounds occupies a section of the northern part of the neighborhood. Homes in Belcaro are similar in style to their historic predecessor in that they are inviting, stately, and meticulously maintained. In addition to the homes’ attractive exteriors, Belcaro is a popular community because of its convenient location by Colorado Boulevard and close proximity to Cherry Creek and I-25. A wide range of house sizes are available in Belcaro, most of which are on large lots that furnish the homes with a sense of privacy, even in Denver’s busy city setting
